Spring skies of the brightest blue…
‘Start 13’ at the Bermondsey Project, 15th February 2013.
The opening night of ‘Start 13’ was a fantastic success. The gallery was packed and the walls were full. A diverse mix of art-work was on display from figurative painting to light installations. The works of Bow Arts Studios, London Sculpture Workshop and London Community Furniture were all on display and all celebrating the new artistic centre of Bermondsey.

New Studio at the Bermondsey Project. January 2013.
I have moved into my new Bermondsey studio and slowly but surely I’m making it into my new creative haven. What initially looked like one big (and slightly daunting) blank canvas, has now been decked with a table saved from a junk yard, a curtain hung precariously from the ceiling and most importantly my paints and canvases. I also have a new show to work towards. The Bermondsey Project group including Bow Arts Charity and Crisis Skylight are hosting a group exhibition showing off the work of a blossoming creative space. The date has been set for February 14th. Details coming shortly!
Solo Show: ‘Become Visible’ at Free Space Gallery. December 2012.
With thanks to all those who helped me to put on my latest show in aid of Diabetes UK, including the curator of the gallery Mel for all her hard work and support. It was a truly successful event. A large section of the work was sold with over £400 raised for Diabetes UK.
‘TREE OF LIVES: A moment in Nature’ - Interactive Installation, 2012.
As part of my SPACE exhibition last January I invited visitors to take a seat within the gallery and to set aside some time to think about what for them was an formative moment in Nature.
Here are just a few examples. To see the whole collection scroll down to the bottom section of the SPACE page on my website and feel free to add your own experiences of being in Nature in the comments section:
Opening night of ‘POINT OF VIEW’ 17th May.
A wonderful night full of fantastic people, wine supplied by the Salusbury Wine Store, beautiful music by Owl & Mouse and King Marigold! I left a very happy if slightly tipsy artist!

”Now sleeps the crimson petal, now the white”, Mixed media on canvas, 2012.
‘POINT OF VIEW’-
Opening night, 17th May from 7pm at the C99 Gallery, NW10 3ND.
In the build up to this show I have noticed my paintings take on a life of their own. I have asked my friends and family to review some of my work and everyone has a different take. My six year old nephew took a look at one of my more abstract pieces and saw a mushroom, my friend a jellyfish..
This is in fact quite fortunate as the show happens to be about the individual ‘point of view’ and the fact that depsite this intrinsic individuality, we are all combined in the shared knowledge of what it means to be human; to know that we are essentially heading to the same inescapable fate. It looks at the beauty of this process, how it gives life more value. We may think immortality is something desirable but like Jonathon Swift’s struldbrugs, the dream of living forever is not all it seems. We see death everyday and experience it all around us, if not the physical end, then an emotional end. Yet with this end there is space for growth.
My show looks at our reaction to this, the process and our struggle or acceptance.
There will be live music and fine wine on the opening night as well as an installation piece, details to be revealed on the opening night!
A nice bit of press in the Times- I got on the front page as well as full page article!(the Brent branch!)
